kitaro Live in Concert @ Genting Highlands 7th Mar 09

Before i begin, i want to thank Mrs Cheong for allowing me to make this trip to Genting to catch Kitaro in action. You know how much i love his music and you understood. Thanks Lao Po!

Im just out of the Arena of Stars abt 10 mins ago. Its raining cats and dogs with Simon and me stuck at Coffee Bean @ Theme Park Hotel. The concert was a huge huge success. I have photos and videos. The Arena was packed and Kitaro duly delivered. Its been 14 years since i caught him Live @ Indoor Stadium during my year 2 in Poly. Such a long wait till today, i finally saw him in the flesh again. He was just like before, passionate about his music, and his professionalism was clear to see.

Kitaro have now flowing long hair with much visible white hair, signs of ageing. I sat there, looking at him, thinking if its going to be my last time attending his Live Performance. I hope when jaylen grows up, father and son can enjoy his concert.

The concert started with a number from his 1st ever album. It was so emotional, i sat there, eyes watery and goosebumbs all over. After that, he gave us a preview of his upcoming CD (in mandarin its called Du Jia Shou Bo), 3 pieces of music dedicated to Mother Earth. Wonderful music. The highlight for me was the medley of his all time hits, esp his re-mix version of his Oscar winning track, 'Heaven and Earth'. I was eagerly waiting for the moment when the horn come in. In the original version, he and another guy blew 2 long horns together. However, today's performance, he was a One Man Show. And he didn't disappoint. Even from far, i could see him controlling his Dan Tian to blow the horn. That was impressive and it drew the entire audiences' applause. At the end of the concert, the audience gave him a standing ovation. While he made his way to backstage, we didn't want him to go. Cries of 'Kitaro Kitaro Kitaro' went round the arena followed by our applause. After a moment, Kitaro re-appeared and bow to us, just like how he started the concert. He gave us an encore of 2 more songs. 1) The very 1st piece he wrote in his life (Such an emotional performance) and 2) A individual solo piece that he wrote in 1995.

After that, another round of standing ovation and he left, bowing and thanking us while he retreated.

J'espère un jour avoir la chance de voir Kitaro in Concert. Je vis en France et il ya plus de 10 ans Kitaro n'est pas venu en Europe.
Je suis un fan de sa musique depuis "Ten Kai".
Cordialement.
Ange.
