What i ate @ KL / Genting Highlands Day 2
After a 5 hour of sleep (Ya, we wandered in casino till 1 am plus), we woke up at 7 plus to have our breakfast. Breakfast was included in the package and its at Happy Valley Restaurant, located at the hotel lobby. Btw, it was the worst hotel breakfast i ever had.
2 cold hard sausages, 1 prata that is bought off the shelves, 2 sotong ball, 1 hard boil egg
Dhall
Plain porridge with lots of spring onion and salted bean fish
Curry chicken (Taste not right), cold baked beans and another cold sausage
The only eatable "Honey Stars"
Fruits that looks soggy
Coffee (No taste) and grape juice
I think Simon also feel the same way as he didn't eat much as well. While we were walking out of the restaurant, he suggested to go back the room to drink coffee (Yes, he must have his Super 3-in-1). I told him why drink instant coffee when there is a coffee bean at the hotel lobby? So we went there for a good cuppa. Guess what? Simon ordered a cheese cake! haha. That shows how yucky the breakfast was!
Glorious Cheese Cake
My Tall House Blend coffee
After that, we checked out and proceeded to KL. Our next and only destination was KLCC. Well, cos i have never been there since it opened and second, its a beautiful day to take photo of the Petronas Twin Tower! While walking around, we spotted this chinese restaurant that has this 50% off promotion between 3 to 5 pm. The decor looks good, the dim sum looks delicious so we decided to take up the offer!

kitaro Live in Concert @ Genting Highlands 7th Mar 09
Im just out of the Arena of Stars abt 10 mins ago. Its raining cats and dogs with Simon and me stuck at Coffee Bean @ Theme Park Hotel. The concert was a huge huge success. I have photos and videos. The Arena was packed and Kitaro duly delivered. Its been 14 years since i caught him Live @ Indoor Stadium during my year 2 in Poly. Such a long wait till today, i finally saw him in the flesh again. He was just like before, passionate about his music, and his professionalism was clear to see.
Kitaro have now flowing long hair with much visible white hair, signs of ageing. I sat there, looking at him, thinking if its going to be my last time attending his Live Performance. I hope when jaylen grows up, father and son can enjoy his concert.
The concert started with a number from his 1st ever album. It was so emotional, i sat there, eyes watery and goosebumbs all over. After that, he gave us a preview of his upcoming CD (in mandarin its called Du Jia Shou Bo), 3 pieces of music dedicated to Mother Earth. Wonderful music. The highlight for me was the medley of his all time hits, esp his re-mix version of his Oscar winning track, 'Heaven and Earth'. I was eagerly waiting for the moment when the horn come in. In the original version, he and another guy blew 2 long horns together. However, today's performance, he was a One Man Show. And he didn't disappoint. Even from far, i could see him controlling his Dan Tian to blow the horn. That was impressive and it drew the entire audiences' applause. At the end of the concert, the audience gave him a standing ovation. While he made his way to backstage, we didn't want him to go. Cries of 'Kitaro Kitaro Kitaro' went round the arena followed by our applause. After a moment, Kitaro re-appeared and bow to us, just like how he started the concert. He gave us an encore of 2 more songs. 1) The very 1st piece he wrote in his life (Such an emotional performance) and 2) A individual solo piece that he wrote in 1995.
After that, another round of standing ovation and he left, bowing and thanking us while he retreated.

Marina Barrage and Melting Pot Cafe @ Holiday Inn Atrium
Today i applied leave to bring Jaylen out to Marina Barrage. This trip was long overdue as i was always being recalled back to work whenever i applied leave. And after the recent trip to Pattaya and exertions during the R1, i hardly had time to accompany Jaylen. So, the earliest available opportunity after the grueling R1, i took a day's rest to spend time with my family.

Marking Attendance
For Dinner, we went to the Holiday Inn Atrium Melting Pot Cafe for buffet dinner. Till 31st Mar, there is a 1 for 1 offer for MINDEF/SAF personnel. Weekday Dinner $30.50++, Fri - Sun $35++. Consider a good deal as i paid $35++ for 3 of us. If there was no 1 for 1, i don't think its worth it as the variety not attractive although there were some stuff i didn't try such as teochew porridge, Pasta, Popiah, Kueh Pie Tee, Rojak and Waffles.
Waiting for food
Starter was chilled prawns on ice
Clam Chowder Soup (Can be better)
Mutton Masala, Fried Fish, Chicken Cutlet, Veal Sausage, Roast Beef, Baked Seafood, Roast Duck
Pork Satay, Pineapple and Satay sauce
Mushrooms, Veggies and Roast Pork Belly
Cakes and "Or Bi Ber'
Fresh Fruits Platter
